Meet Your Instructors

Jeannette Kennedy & Tammy Piers

Jeannette Kennedy, M.Sc.

Registered Clinical Psychologist

Jeannette is a skilled Clinical Psychologist with a rich background in trauma-focused care and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. A former federal Correctional Officer and National Trainer, she has advanced certifications in EMDR Therapy, iRest® Yoga Nidra, and yoga instruction. Currently deepening her expertise in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Jeannette combines scientific rigor with compassionate care to support healing and growth. An active volunteer, she has chaired committees, led yoga programs, and served as President of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia in 2020.

Tammy Piers, M.Sc.

Registered Clinical Psychologist

Tammy is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in government, healthcare, education, and forensic settings. She holds two Master’s degrees in Psychology, with specializations in cognitive neuroscience and clinical psychology. Tammy has contributed to groundbreaking research on dyslexia and neuroimaging of language processes and has worked in diverse roles, including at Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia Hospital for Mental Health. Since 2018, she has focused her private practice on trauma-related care, primarily serving military and first responder populations.
